The Panama Helpline is a community safety organization based in the interior of Panama - (covering Penonomé in the West to Chamé in the East, including Altos Del Maria and El Valle). Neighbors helping neighbours since 2013. The HELPLINE is very effective in protecting members. When Boquete installed their HOTLINE system (Rodny Direct) they reduced crime in Boquete by over 80%. Police and emergency services do not alway speak English, and few home in Panama have accurate address's. Getting police and investigators to the scene quickly, before evidence and witnesses disappear is a key to catching these criminals. Our members have provided our operators with accurate directions to their houses, who is in the home, a complete list of their medications and any allergies they suffer from, their pets name, vets name, doctor's names, emergency contact numbers, vehicle plate numbers, make and model, everything we need to direct emergency services on where to reach you and what medical treatment you may need. There are many reasons for the success of the HELPLINE: Not only do we help with calls to the police, we also help with bomberos (Fire) calling ambulances (NOTE: we have many sources of ambulances that no-one else can reach), AND we offer a National Roadside Assistance service - we can get a tow truck to you ANYWHERE IN PANAMA - 24 hours a day! in effect we are the CAA/AAA and the English 911 services in the interior In addition we just launched a unique new service- VETS ON CALL - 24 hour a day emergency vet consultants and if needed one of our vets will come to your home!! Simply call the helpline -we will have a bilingual veterinarian call you to give you advice 24 hours a day. Dangers to our fur babies lurks everywhere: Snake bites, hit by cars, poisonous frogs, toads, bees, spiders, scorpions - one call and help is on the line, and if needed, our vet will come tend to your pet at your home! Ask about our Vets at Home service. Discount for all veterinarian services is provided to all Panama Helpline members. WHY JOIN THE PANAMA HELPLINE? Firstly - many foreigners do not speak Spanish well, especially in a panic situation. Police cannot understand what they are trying to say to them. Secondly, there are few addresses or directional signs in Panama, and describing where you live or where you are located is often difficult, especially in another language. Thirdly - police and emergency services receive a lot of crank calls - from drunks, kids, and false alarms - especially from the cheap alarm systems sold at big box stores in Panama.(Lightening and/or power surges set off false alarms and the responders just learn to ignore automated emergency calls). Our operators sift through all of this clutter - and only call the emergency services in a genuine emergency. The police, fire, and ambulance operators love the HOTLINE - they know if one of our operators call - it is a true emergency, and they respond quickly. Most importantly, our operator can give the emergency services directions in Spanish - and help guide them to the emergency - in Spanish. BECOME A MEMBER TODAY The Panamá Helpline is not a police force - we are a volunteer organization that works with Panama's Law Enforcement and the Criminal Justice system, working where they need us. In our "Members Only" section of our website, we explain how we are able to give exact directions to the police, and what the other issues we are working on. The HELPLINE will not stop all attacks - but it is the best tool we have right now to fight violent crime in our communities. The Panamá Helpline S.A. is not interested in drug smuggling, money laundering or other crimes - we are concerned with community safety only - especially violent crime. The Panamá Helpline is like a bilingual 911 and AAA service, all in one. For only $120 a year for the entire household! Join PH today - "You will never be alone in Panama again". |
